Life Accompaniment
With Dr. Guillaume Vincent
Life Accompaniment is a contemplative practice of conversation, discernment, and accompaniment through life’s transitions, questions, and possibilities.
There are seasons when life feels stuck, unaligned, fragmented, or simply ready for something deeper. Life Accompaniment offers a thoughtful one-on-one relationship for listening beneath the surface of what is happening and becoming more present to the life that is already unfolding within you.
This is not conventional coaching focused on productivity, performance, or reaching the next goal. It is not psychotherapy. It is a relational and contemplative practice of honest conversation, deep listening, discernment, integration, and learning to live with greater freedom, presence, and wholeness.

A Time for Accompaniment
When Life Calls for Deeper Attention
Life Accompaniment may be helpful when you recognize the value of having another person walk beside you while you reflect, discern, integrate, and find a way forward that feels more deeply aligned with who you are and the life you are living.
Transition & Loss
Career change, parenthood, aging, illness, divorce, grief, relocation, retirement, identity shifts, or a season when the life you knew is changing.
Recurring Patterns
Relationships, family dynamics, old roles, inner conflict, avoidance, over-functioning, shame, fear, or patterns you understand but still find yourself repeating.
Meaning, Vocation & Discernment
Questions of purpose, calling, leadership, faith, identity, direction, difficult decisions, or the quiet sense that life is asking something more of you.

The Practice
What Happens During Life Accompaniment?
Each session begins with what is most alive in your life now. There is no predetermined curriculum and no requirement that you arrive with a perfectly defined goal. We begin with what is present and listen together for what may be underneath it.
Our work may include honest conversation, contemplative reflection, exploration of family and relational patterns, values clarification, moments of silence, spiritual reflection when meaningful to you, and practical ways of integrating what becomes clearer into everyday life.
Life Accompaniment is a collaborative process of listening, discernment, honest reflection, and integration, with room for perspective, guidance, and challenge when they are helpful. The intention is to support you in becoming more present to yourself, your relationships, your values, and the life you are actually living.
For Those Familiar With This Work
If these terms are already part of your vocabulary, our approach may draw from:
Come Prepared
Before each session, take time to think about what you want to bring forward. Life Accompaniment works best when you arrive with something real, a question, a tension, a decision, not a blank page. You don’t need polish. You need honesty.
Listening More Deeply
When Life Itself Is Asking for Attention
There are times when life’s questions cannot be solved by trying harder or finding the right strategy. A transition, loss, relationship, illness, vocation, or quiet sense of disconnection may reveal that something deeper is asking to be heard, even if you have already done real inner work, been to therapy, and understand your patterns intellectually.
Life Accompaniment creates space to slow down and listen differently, without treating everything as a problem to fix. The goal is not a more polished version of yourself. It is becoming more present to who you are, integrating what has been fragmented or avoided, and living with greater freedom, integrity, and connection.

Looking for a More Body Centered Approach?
Somatic Attunement works primarily through nervous system regulation, embodiment, and somatic integration. It may be a better fit when stress, pain, sleep difficulties, chronic tension, or other mind body patterns are asking for attention.

Important Information
Common Questions
Is Life Accompaniment psychotherapy?
No. Life Accompaniment is not psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, or mental health treatment, and it does not replace care from licensed mental health or medical professionals when that level of care is needed. It may complement therapy by creating another kind of space for reflection, discernment, integration, relationship, and whole-person growth.
Is this life coaching?
It shares some territory with life coaching, but its orientation is different. Conventional coaching often emphasizes goals, performance, accountability, productivity, and getting somewhere. Life Accompaniment draws more deeply from contemplative practice and relational accompaniment. Clarity, direction, and meaningful change often emerge, but they are not forced. The emphasis is on listening deeply, becoming more integrated, and participating more fully in your life.
Is Life Accompaniment spiritual direction?
Not exactly. Life Accompaniment is informed by contemplative traditions and may include spiritual discernment when that is meaningful to you, but the work is broader than spiritual direction. Relationships, vocation, family, grief, identity, leadership, patterns, and the practical realities of everyday life are all welcome here.
Do I need to have a spiritual or religious practice?
No. People from all backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences are welcome. Spirituality may be part of the conversation if it is part of your life, but no belief system is required or imposed. The work begins with your experience, your values, your questions, and what is genuinely alive for you.
What does a session cost?
Life Accompaniment uses a tiered rate. Everyone receives the same care, you choose the amount that honestly reflects your circumstances, with no explanation required. Choosing a higher tier helps keep the lower tier available for someone else.
See current rates on our Pricing page →
If even the lowest tier isn’t accessible right now, additional assistance may be available.
How often do we meet?
There is no fixed schedule. You and Dr. Vincent will discern together how often meeting would be helpful. Some people come weekly for a season, others monthly, and some schedule as needed. What matters is that the rhythm serves the work, not the other way around.
What if this isn’t the right fit?
Not every relationship is the right fit, and that’s alright. A consultation exists precisely to find that out together, honestly and without pressure, before any commitment is made.
Why do I share my story before scheduling?
Life Accompaniment depends on relationship and fit. Sharing something about what brings you here, what you have been living through, and what you hope to explore allows the work to begin with thoughtful preparation rather than starting from a blank page.
An Invitation
You Do Not Have to Know Exactly What You Need
Sometimes the beginning is simply recognizing that something in your life deserves deeper attention. You do not need a perfect goal, a clear diagnosis of the problem, or a plan for where the work should lead. You only need enough willingness to begin listening.
