Comprehensive Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Comprehensive Acupuncture: whole-person care, rooted in over two thousand years of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Most people come in asking for acupuncture. What they receive is something larger: a complete Traditional Chinese Medicine approach that looks at the whole person — body, energy, emotion, lifestyle, constitution, and the patterns that shape health over time.

Comprehensive Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at Acupuncture Together
Which One Do You Need?

Comprehensive Acupuncture & TCM vs. Private Acupuncture

Comprehensive Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete evaluation designed for multiple, chronic, or interconnected health concerns — looking at the whole pattern behind your symptoms, not just one complaint. Private Acupuncture is more focused: one-on-one treatment for a single primary concern, with more time and privacy than Community Care, but without the full whole-person evaluation.

If your health picture is complex, recurring, or connected across multiple systems, Comprehensive Care is likely the better fit. If you have one clear, specific concern, Private Acupuncture may be all you need. Explore Private Acupuncture →

Comprehensive Care Within the One-on-One Pathway

Community Acupuncture is the foundation of Acupuncture Together. It is accessible, effective, and designed for regular care in a peaceful shared setting.

Comprehensive Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine is our one-on-one specialty care service for patients who need more time, privacy, deeper assessment, expanded treatment options, and a more complete review of the patterns behind their symptoms.

More Than Needles

Acupuncture is one branch of a vast and ancient medical system. Traditional Chinese Medicine has spent thousands of years refining its understanding of the human body, mind, and spirit.

The needles are real, and they work. But they are one tool within a complete approach to health that addresses the whole person: body, energy, emotion, daily habits, constitution, and the conditions of life that shape all of it.

In this comprehensive One-on-One Care service, we have the time and space to listen more deeply, identify the root pattern, and develop a treatment plan that reflects the whole person.

A Note on What Makes This Different

Western medicine excels at crisis intervention, diagnosis, imaging, medication, and emergency care. What it often cannot offer is a complete framework for understanding why a pattern keeps returning — why the same pain comes back, why anxiety never fully resolves, why sleep stays unsettled, or why a person can be technically healthy and still feel fundamentally unwell.

Chinese medicine has spent over two thousand years developing exactly that framework. It does not treat a symptom in isolation. It looks for the root, the terrain, and the pattern beneath the pattern. It treats the person, not just the disease. Whole Person Care is the foundation of this service, just as it is the foundation of every pathway at Acupuncture Together.

What May Be Included

Acupuncture

Thin, sterile, single-use needles are placed at specific points to regulate Qi, calm the nervous system, reduce pain, support circulation, and restore balance in the body.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbal recommendations may be included when appropriate. Patients who need a dedicated, in-depth herbal evaluation may be referred to our Comprehensive Herbal Medicine Consultation within Specialty Care.

Moxibustion

The gentle heat of mugwort may be used to warm, nourish, and support the body, especially in cold or deficient patterns, fatigue, immune weakness, or certain gynecological concerns.

Cupping & Gua Sha

Cupping uses gentle suction to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and release stagnation. Gua Sha uses a smooth tool to work along the skin toward the same goals. Both may be included when appropriate to reduce pain, tension, and inflammation.

Ear Seeds & Auriculotherapy

The ear contains a microsystem map of the body. Ear seeds may be used between sessions to support pain relief, anxiety, sleep, stress regulation, and ongoing treatment goals.

Diet & Nutritional Guidance

Guidance is offered through the lens of Chinese medicine, focusing on how foods affect your constitution, digestion, energy, inflammation, and healing capacity.

Lifestyle & Emotional Alchemy

Chinese medicine understands that sleep, rest, movement, stress, emotions, relationships, and daily rhythms are not separate from health. They are part of health.

Every Treatment Is Different

No two people receive the same treatment simply because they share the same diagnosis. Traditional Chinese Medicine looks beyond the name of the condition to understand the unique pattern of imbalance beneath it.

One visit may focus primarily on acupuncture. Another may include herbal medicine, ear seeds, moxibustion, nutritional guidance, cupping, electro-acupuncture, or lifestyle recommendations. Your care evolves as your body changes.

Every session is individualized. The goal is not simply to treat symptoms, but to help restore the conditions that allow your body to heal.

Care for Teens & Young People

Comprehensive Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can also support teens and young people who are navigating the physical, emotional, and hormonal changes of growing up.

Young people may benefit from care for stress, anxiety, sleep difficulties, headaches, menstrual concerns, digestive issues, sports injuries, focus challenges, and nervous system regulation.

Treatments are gentle, respectful, and adapted to the age, comfort level, and needs of the patient. Parents or guardians are required for consent at the first visit. After that, attendance can be discussed based on the teen’s age, comfort, and clinical situation.

Teens may receive one-on-one care through this service, and they are also welcome in Community Acupuncture when that setting is appropriate.

What to Expect

First Visit — Initial Consultation & Treatment

Your first visit is an opportunity to discuss your health concerns, goals, history, and whether this approach is right for you. Together, we review your symptoms and begin creating a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Please come ready for treatment, as most first visits include your initial session. Depending on your case, care may include acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, herbal or nutritional counseling, mind-body guidance, ear seeds, moxibustion, or other appropriate Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities.

Follow-Up Treatments

Follow-up visits focus on treatment and ongoing adjustment of your care plan. Your practitioner may continue with acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, herbal guidance, lifestyle recommendations, nutritional support, ear seeds, or other modalities based on your progress.

New to our clinic, or coming in with a new chief complaint? Please book a First Visit — Initial Consultation & Treatment so we can begin with a full review and personalized care plan.

After Your Visit

Many patients leave feeling relaxed, grounded, and recharged. Over the following days, subtle benefits may appear, including improved sleep, reduced stress, better digestion, less pain, and increased energy.

Initial results may be temporary, especially with chronic or long-standing conditions. Early visits are often scheduled more frequently to build stronger, longer-lasting benefits.
